David
Fleetham
David Fleetham has been diving and photographing underwater
since 1976 and has been in Hawaii for over twenty years He has
been on assignments around the world for many clients,
including National Geographic. David's award winning work has
adorned over 100 magazine covers including the only underwater
image to ever appear on LIFE. His award winning work has been
published by National Geographic, The Cousteau Society, and
every North American diving publication. The American Museum
of Natural History, The Smithsonian Museum, The North Carolina
Museum of Natural History, The London Zoo, Hong Kong Museum,
The Maui Ocean Center, The Waikiki, Vancouver, Monterey Bay,
and the Aquarium of the Americas all display his work. For

Ed Robinson
Certified 1963 at age 15
1st camera: Nikonos II and Subsea Strobe
Moved to Maui, Hawaii and began diving as a vocation in 1971.
Became NAUI Instructor in 1972
Became serious about underwater photography in about 1974.
Learned UW photography by shooting and selling Kodachrome
slides of customers. Only entered a few photo contests. Won
1st place in non close-up color prints in 1979 Underwater
Photographic Society contest in Los Angeles and an honorable
mention in the 1982 Nikon International Photo Contest. His
reputation grew as he actively submitted his photographs to
magazine and book publishers and sold Cibachrome art prints to
patrons visiting Maui. Ed began traveling in 1981 and has
dived and photographed dozens of international destinations,
primarily in the South Pacific. Most unique destinations are
Palmyra Atoll and Midway Atoll. Among his achievements his
photography has been used on the cover of several National
Geographic Society publications and dozens of US and
international magazines. A Sunset Magazine portfolio of
his work stated he has “The eye of a scientist and the sole of
an artist.” Photographs are now used in hundreds of
publications and promotional literature throughout the world.
His work is currently being marketed by several stock agencies
in Hawaii and Internationally. Currently he is still shooting
his trusted Nikonos IIIs (He has 7 or 8 bodies) and his Nikon
film cameras in Tussey housings. He does intend to go digital
underwater soon.

Andrew Sallmon
Andrew Sallmon is a freelance underwater and nature
photographer specializing in images of marine life and the
marine environment. His love of the oceans came at age 5
when his father first swam him through the surf of coastal
California. He took up Scuba diving in 1979 and became a
Scuba Instructor by the end of 1980. Picking up his first
underwater camera that same year he is now one of the
fortunate few that earn a living as an underwater
photographer. Along with his skill as an underwater
cameraman he is well known for his digital imaging and
underwater photography seminars and classes and is also
the sales representative for Sea and Sea U.S.A., Southern
California territory. His images are featured in
advertisements, catalogs, books, magazines, calendars and
posters and are also displayed in aquariums and natural
